Chaldean Numerology — The Ancient Babylonian Number System

Chaldean numerology is the oldest numerology system, originating from ancient Babylon (modern-day Iraq). Unlike the more common Pythagorean system that assigns numbers sequentially, Chaldean numerology assigns numbers based on the sound vibrations of each letter.

Key difference from Pythagorean: In Chaldean, the number 9 is considered sacred and is never assigned to any letter. The name number is calculated using the name you are commonly known by (not necessarily your legal birth name).

Many numerologists consider Chaldean more accurate than Pythagorean because it is based on sound vibrations rather than arbitrary sequential assignment. The compound numbers (double digits before reduction) carry special significance in Chaldean — each has a unique meaning.
