Panchang (पंचांग) is the Hindu calendar consisting of five elements: Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana, and Vara. It determines auspicious timings for ceremonies and varies by location due to different sunrise times.
Choghadiya divides day and night into 8 slots each. Amrit (best), Shubh (good), and Labh (profitable) are auspicious. Rog, Kaal, and Udveg are inauspicious. Char is suitable for travel only.
