Pancha Mahapurusha Yoga — 5 Great Person Yogas in Vedic Astrology

पंच महापुरुष योग

ShareSharePost

Pancha Mahapurusha Yoga is formed when any of the 5 non-luminary planets (Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn) is in its own sign or exaltation AND in a Kendra house (1st, 4th, 7th, or 10th). These are among the most powerful yogas in Vedic astrology.

The 5 Yogas:

1. Ruchaka Yoga (Mars): Mars in Aries, Scorpio, or Capricorn in a Kendra. Gives a strong body, leadership, military prowess, and courage. The native becomes a commander or leader.

2. Bhadra Yoga (Mercury): Mercury in Gemini or Virgo in a Kendra. Gives exceptional intelligence, communication skills, business acumen, and youthful appearance. The native becomes a scholar or successful merchant.

3. Hamsa Yoga (Jupiter): Jupiter in Sagittarius, Pisces, or Cancer in a Kendra. The most auspicious — gives wisdom, fame, spiritual depth, beautiful spouse, and religious nature. The native becomes a respected teacher or leader.

4. Malavya Yoga (Venus): Venus in Taurus, Libra, or Pisces in a Kendra. Gives beauty, luxury, artistic talent, a beautiful spouse, and material comforts. The native becomes an artist or lives in luxury.

5. Shasha Yoga (Saturn): Saturn in Capricorn, Aquarius, or Libra in a Kendra. Gives authority, leadership over workers, political power, and longevity. The native becomes a powerful administrator.

These yogas must be assessed in context — other planetary aspects and the overall chart strength determine how strongly the yoga manifests.
