Yogas are specific planetary combinations in a birth chart that produce distinctive results. There are hundreds of yogas in Vedic astrology — some bring extraordinary success, while others indicate challenges.

Benefic Yogas (bring success):

Raj Yoga: Formed when lords of Kendra (1,4,7,10) and Trikona (1,5,9) houses are conjunct, mutually aspecting, or exchange signs. The most powerful yoga for authority and success.

Gajakesari Yoga: Jupiter in a Kendra from Moon. Gives wisdom, fame, and prosperity. One of the most common and beneficial yogas.

Dhan Yoga: Connection between lords of 1st, 2nd, 5th, 9th, and 11th houses. Indicates wealth accumulation.

Budhaditya Yoga: Sun and Mercury conjunction. Gives intelligence and career success through communication.

Chandra-Mangal Yoga: Moon and Mars conjunction. Gives wealth through effort and determination.

Malefic Yogas (indicate challenges):

Kaal Sarp Dosha: All 7 planets between Rahu and Ketu. Causes delays and obstacles.

Kemdrum Yoga: Moon with no planets in 2nd or 12th from it. Causes poverty and mental instability (but easily cancelled by many conditions).

Daridra Yoga: Lord of 11th in 6th, 8th, or 12th house. Indicates financial difficulties.

Note: A single yoga does not define your entire chart. The overall balance of yogas, planet strengths, and Dasha periods determines life outcomes.
