Raj Yoga in Kundli — Types, Formation & How to Identify

कुंडली में राजयोग — प्रकार और पहचान

ShareSharePost

Raj Yoga (Royal Yoga) is the most prestigious combination in Vedic astrology — indicating wealth, power, authority, and high social status. It forms when lords of Kendra houses (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) combine with lords of Trikona houses (1st, 5th, 9th).

Basic principle: Kendra houses represent action and worldly engagement. Trikona houses represent dharma, fortune, and past-life merit. When their lords connect (conjunction, mutual aspect, or exchange), the native achieves success through righteous action — the definition of Raj Yoga.

Types of Raj Yoga: 1. Dharma-Karmadhipati Yoga: 9th lord + 10th lord — the strongest Raj Yoga. Fortune meets career. 2. Lakshmi Yoga: Venus in own/exalted sign in a Kendra — gives wealth and luxury. 3. Viparita Raj Yoga: Lords of 6th, 8th, or 12th in each other's houses — success through adversity. 4. Neechbhang Raj Yoga: A debilitated planet whose debilitation is cancelled — extraordinary rise from humble origins. 5. Maha Raj Yoga: Multiple Raj Yoga combinations in the same chart — exceptional power and wealth.

Important: Having Raj Yoga in your chart does NOT guarantee instant success. The yoga must be activated during the relevant Dasha periods, and the planets forming it must have sufficient strength (Shadbala). Many charts have Raj Yoga that never fully activates.

How to check: Generate your Kundli on AstroMangal, identify your Lagna, then check if any Kendra lord is connected with any Trikona lord through conjunction, aspect, or sign exchange.
