Open a new office on the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th, 11th or 13th tithi — or Purnima — in a fixed nakshatra like Rohini or Uttara Phalguni, on a Thursday for growth or Friday for prosperity. Avoid Bhadra (Vishti), Amavasya, and the inaugurating owner's Chandrashtama.

How this muhurta is determined

An inauguration fixes the character of the establishment, which is why Purnima — the full Moon, fullness of result — is welcomed here even though ordinary work muhurtas skip it. Fixed nakshatras root the enterprise; Thursday inaugurations are linked with growth under wise counsel, Friday with wealth and public appeal.

Vishti (Bhadra) karana is a hard stop for inaugurations — ribbon-cuttings under Bhadra are the classic example of a ceremony the texts say to reschedule. Keep the lamp-lighting and first transaction inside a Shubh or Amrit Choghadiya.

Have the first sale, first invoice or first entry in the books happen the same day — an opening without a first transaction leaves the muhurta incomplete.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Purnima good for opening an office?

Yes. Purnima is avoided for routine beginnings but favoured for inaugurations and establishments, symbolising fullness of result. Pair it with a fixed nakshatra for stability.

Who should cut the ribbon by muhurta rules?

The person whose fortunes the office carries — the owner or managing partner — and ideally not on their personal Chandrashtama or a Naidhana tara day. An elder or guru performing the lamp-lighting is always auspicious.
