Navratri 2026 — Dates, 9 Goddess Forms, Colors & Rituals

Navratri (नवरात्रि) is the 9-night festival dedicated to the nine forms of Goddess Durga (Navadurga). It is celebrated four times a year, with Sharad Navratri (September-October) and Chaitra Navratri (March-April) being the most prominent.

The 9 forms of Durga worshipped on each day: Day 1 — Shailputri (Daughter of Mountains), Day 2 — Brahmacharini (Devotee), Day 3 — Chandraghanta (Moon Bell), Day 4 — Kushmanda (Creator of Universe), Day 5 — Skandamata (Mother of Kartikeya), Day 6 — Katyayani (Warrior), Day 7 — Kalaratri (Dark Night), Day 8 — Mahagauri (White Goddess), Day 9 — Siddhidatri (Giver of Powers).

Each day has a designated color: Orange, White, Red, Royal Blue, Yellow, Green, Grey, Purple/Peacock Green, Pink.

Vijayadashami (Dussehra) on the 10th day celebrates the victory of good over evil.
