Ram Navami 2026 — Date, Puja Vidhi & Significance
रामनवमी 2026
Ram Navami celebrates the birth of Lord Rama — the seventh avatar of Vishnu — on the 9th day (Navami) of Shukla Paksha in Chaitra month. It is the concluding day of Chaitra Navratri.
📅 Hindu Calendar 2026 →Lord Rama was born at noon (Madhyahna) during Punarvasu Nakshatra, making the midday period most auspicious for worship. The puja involves placing Rama's idol in a cradle, offering Panchamrit (mixture of milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar), and reciting Ramayana.
Ram Navami is one of the most significant festivals in North India. Many devotees observe a day-long fast, breaking it only after the midday puja. In Ayodhya, the birthplace of Rama, grand celebrations and Rath Yatras are organized.
Spiritual significance: Lord Rama embodies Maryada Purushottam — the ideal man who follows dharma in every circumstance. His life teaches righteousness, devotion, and duty.
