रामनवमी 2026

ShareSharePost

Ram Navami celebrates the birth of Lord Rama — the seventh avatar of Vishnu — on the 9th day (Navami) of Shukla Paksha in Chaitra month. It is the concluding day of Chaitra Navratri.

Lord Rama was born at noon (Madhyahna) during Punarvasu Nakshatra, making the midday period most auspicious for worship. The puja involves placing Rama's idol in a cradle, offering Panchamrit (mixture of milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar), and reciting Ramayana.

Ram Navami is one of the most significant festivals in North India. Many devotees observe a day-long fast, breaking it only after the midday puja. In Ayodhya, the birthplace of Rama, grand celebrations and Rath Yatras are organized.

Spiritual significance: Lord Rama embodies Maryada Purushottam — the ideal man who follows dharma in every circumstance. His life teaches righteousness, devotion, and duty.
