Do I need bhoomi pujan before renovation?
Only if the work opens the ground (new foundations, borewell, major extension) or replaces the roof. For interior renovation a short Ganesh smaran and a good starting day suffice.
Painting and furniture work — any timing rules?
These are gentle works: any favourable weekday outside Panchak serves. New BEDS specifically should not be set up during Panchak — that prohibition is explicit in the tradition.
